Our family Matriarch, Anna Samanthia Scott, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 14that the Richboro Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, in Richboro, PA. Anna was 104.

Anna was preceded in death by her father Charles Scott; her mother Bertha Scott; her husband Walter M. Scott, Sr.; her two children Walter M. Scott, Jr. and Patricia A. Scott Richards; two brothers, Charles Scott, Jr. and Eugene Scott; and her great granddaughter Carissa Scott.

Anna is survived by six grandchildren, Linda A. Lynn (Patrick) of SC; William X. Richards, Jr. (Andrea), Michael J. Richards, Sr. (Karie), Robert J. Richards (Kelly) of PA; Walter M. Scott, Jr. and Debra Wandachowicz (Jim) of IN; and daughter-in-law Loretta Scott of IN.

She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren, Kimberly Cuce', Barry Bumford and Corie Lynn of SC; Michael Richards, Jr. of VA, Brian, Alexandrea, William III, Dillon and Cameron Richards of PA; and Amanda Edwin (Alex), Caitlyn Scott and Emma Farlow of IN.

Anna is also survived by four great-great grandchildren, Madison, Nicholas and Nathaniel Cuce' and Sara Gregory of SC.

She also leaves many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Anna was born in Kensington Philadelphia and was raised in the Andalusia section of Bucks County. In the early 1980's Anna moved to Indiana where she resided for 21 years before returning to Philadelphia in 2004.

Anna graduated in 1931 from the very first Bensalem High School where she was the Secretary and President each and every year. She participated in many other activities that included the Choral, Latin and French clubs; the Tennis Team and Debate team. Anna was the chief pianist for the Drama club each year and was a staff reporter and editor for the high school Bensalemite Newspaper. It was said she had "done much to make the Bensalmite Newspaper a success".

At the age of 16, Anna swam across the Delaware River from Cornwells Heights to the New Jersey side. Unheard of, it was published in the newspaper the following day.

In 1931, Anna attended the Palmer School of Business. That same year, she married her sweet heart Walter Scott and they were blessed with two children. However, her beloved Walter was tragically killed in an auto accident after only four years of marriage.

Anna was employed by from the Philadelphia Transportation Co. (PTC), known today as SEPTA, for 45 years as head of the Payroll Division where she then retired.

Anna's greatest passions were traveling with her mother to visit family, singing and playing the piano for her family, reading, and enjoying a piece of chocolate and a scotch and water each evening.

In her own words, Anna said her greatest accomplishments and achievements were "to take care of, to love and to make her family happy".

Anna Samanthia Scott, you far exceeded your commitment to your family. We will miss you. We thank you and we love you dearly, Your Family.

There will be a grave side service at The Forrest Hills Cemetery on Saturday, June 3 at 11:30.
