Obituary

Richard (“Dick”) Irvin Schell, age 89, passed away on April 14, 2022, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. A longtime resident of Bensalem, PA and Bonita Springs, FL, Richard was born on September 15, 1932. He established a career with Steamfitters Local Union 420, Philadelphia for over 70 years and owned Schell’s Sport Shop for over 40 years. Richard was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, National Rifle Association, Elks Club and East Hill Hunting Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly fishing and hunting. Richard was preceded in death by parents William Schell and Hilda Davis Schell, wife Eleanor Mama Schell and brother Donald Schell. Richard is survived by his wife, Shannon Schell, daughters Valerie Schell, Susan Tertel and Janis Fick (William), grandchildren Nickolas (Lori), Zackary, Stephanie (Andrew), Stacie (Colt), Aleeta, Grant, Samuel and Andrew, and six great grandchildren, brother James (Florence). He is also survived by three stepdaughters Cynthia Maris, Vicky Tway (John) and Susan Conge (Michael), 8 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, Thursday, April 21, 2022, from 10am to 11am at Tomlinson Funeral Home, P.C., 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA, 19020, followed by his Service at 11 AM. Interment William Penn Cemetery, Trevose and Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA.
