Obituary

Henry “Hank” Arment, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and respected member of the community, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024. He was 86 years old.

Born on April 29, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA, Henry lived his entire life in Trevose, PA and was a proud graduate of Bensalem High School. He dedicated his life to his family and serving the community he called home.

Survived by his loving sons Michael (Jen) and Patrick (Julianne), Henry leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories. His grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher, were a source of immense pride and joy in his life. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie, in 2023, and his parents Larry and Gertrude.

Henry worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a foreman of grounds at Eastern State School and Hospital. A great day at work for him was cutting the grass from a tractor in the hot summer sun. In retirement he continued to work part time as a park ranger for Bensalem Township.

Henry served his community for 70 years as a volunteer fireman and later fire police as a member of Trevose Fire Company. He was a Life member of the fire company having served in various leadership roles including Trustee, Assistant Chief, and most recently Captain of the Fire Police.

Along with the fire company Henry dedicated his time to the Bensalem Historical Society. His passion for history and his commitment to preserving it were admirable. Henry's involvement with the society allowed him to contribute to the community's appreciation and understanding of its rich heritage.

A former Bensalem High School football player Henry continued to follow all the local sports from Bensalem High School, Penn State, Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and Sixers. Having worked on the Langhorne Speedway crash crew he remained a huge motor sports fan and looked forward to his weekends watching NASCAR.

To honor Henry's life, his dedication to his community, and his numerous accomplishments, a memorial service will be held on February 27, 2024, at 11:00 am at Trevose Fire Company, located at located 4900 Street Rd. Trevose, PA 19053. Prior to the service, a public viewing will take place at 9:00 am, providing an opportunity for family, friends and acquaintances to pay their respects. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Trevose Fire Company or the Bensalem Historical Society.
