Nancy Downing (Ennis)

Nancy Jane Downing Ennis, 'Funny Pants Nance', entered into the arms of Jesus Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was 67.

Nancy was born in Bristol, and had been a resident of Langhorne Borough, for the past 38 years. She was a 1966 graduate of Bensalem High School and loved being a part of the 'Chicks of '66'. She was a graduate of Hahnemann University, where she earned her PA-C and went on to become the Director of Clinical Rotations and faculty for the Physician Assistant Program at Hahnemann/ Drexel University. Nancy returned to her true passion of treating patients at the Livengrin Foundation, where she finished her career. She also enjoyed serving as secretary for the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission.

Nancy loved a great book, the beach, floating in the pool, shooting-the-breeze, Brother's Pizza, making the holidays special, and sailing the Chesapeake with her beloved husband James.

Nancy was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Sutton Trommer; her father, William Milner Downing IV; and her niece, Brooke Elizabeth Rossman.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, James A. Ennis. She was the devoted mother of Edward R. Hanley, Ginger J. Sonnier (Darren), Michael W. Hanley, and Erin J. Markey (Patrick). She was the loving grandmother of Melissa Hanley, Michael Hanley Jr., Allison Grosso, Matthew Hanley, Victoria Wilcox, Jessica Wilcox, Brin Markey, and Eve Markey and proud great-grandmother of Benjamin Hanley. She was the loving sister of William M. Downing V (Tina), Judith A. Rossman (Paul), Thomas M. Downing (Jacki), James R. Trommer (Lisa), and Susan J. Opperman (Tony).

Nancy's family will receive relatives and friends for a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Langhorne United Methodist Church, 301 W. Maple Ave., Langhorne, PA 19047. Friends and relatives will also be received for a viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, with services to follow. Interment will follow at Bristol Cemetery, 704 State Road, Bristol PA 19021.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Livengrin Foundation, 4833 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020.

Eileen Lipsack (Oposnow) (1966)

Nancy was always a fun loving classmate.  Whenever I return home to Bensalem for a visit I enjoyed being in her coming with the Chicks of 66.  We will miss all your shenanigans Nancy.
