Ed was a gentle man, always thoughtful of others. We spoke numerous times recently and Ed spent a large amount of his time ministering to the needs of our 1968 classmates who had fallen on hard times. My most recent conversation with him the week of 5/1 he was regaling me with stories about several classmates he had just visited with or reconnected. I will miss him greatly and the lunch dates that we would share as the opportunity presented itself. God bless you Ed. You will be in many people's hearts going forward. My sympathy for his wife and family go out today.

Very sad to hear about Ed's passing. It has been years since I have seen him but have appreciated catching up with him via this website and knowing more about his life over these past years. Ed was a good friend during my two years at Bensalem and I am sure that he will be greatly missed by his family, his friends and his church community. None of us know how many days are measured out to us on this earth and it is good to know that Ed lived a life of love and service. I rejoice knowing that he is in the arms of his Savior.

It is so sad to learn of Eds passing. Ed was a great friend in high school. We went to events together in his 57 Chevy. Ed was also wrestling manager and then became a wrestler. I ran into Ed a few times over the years and always said we would keep in touch, but never did. It is so important to to keep in touch as time flys by and then it is too late. RIP old buddy!

I have been thinking about "Eddie" every day since my brother called about Ed's sudden death this week.  Ed was a loyal customer of Dylan's garage (Ridge Auto), and I would hear stories of their interactions from time to time.  Ed took the time to attend Dylan's mother-in-law's funeral a few years ago, where he and I had a chance to catch up.  Ed was always kind and sensitive to others' feelings.  I don't know of anyone who worked harder in his studies than Ed, and I think he even had a part-time job or other family obligations in addition to his work with the sports teams.  We went to the prom together -- he was such a gentleman, and I share my sympathies with his lovely family.

If I had to name the friendliest person in the Bensalem class of 1968 it would be Ed Pfender. I also reconnected with him at the Ridge funeral a few years ago and we became good facebook friends.  No question how many lives he touched as there was a line out the door of the funeral home for 2 hours straight.

My sincerest sympathies go out to Ed's family and friends. The sad news of his passing has triggered so many emotions and memories of a special classmate. He always had a sweet positive attitude along with a winning smile and personality, which made him a leader. He never judged but accepted everyone with genuine friendship. Although I hadn't seen Ed since high school, I learned that he was dedicated to helping others. I am not surprised. He left this world a better place." Job well done." You will be greatly missed, Ed. Rest in peace!

My sympathy goes out to Ed Pfender's family and friends. For many of us, high school was not a great place, but I remember Ed as one of those special people who could create a safe zone around him. He always had a smile and accepted people without judgement. Ed was definitely one of the good people in life.

I'd like to express my deepest condolences to Karen and the rest of Ed's family and friends. I considered Ed a friend in high school and always loved his smile and laugh. He was kind, accepting, and non-judgmental. We connected on Facebook and shared pictures of our families. I'm not surprised to hear what an outstanding man he was to his family and community.  It's so sad that someone with his character has gone to his Maker so early; it is certainly our loss here in this life.

Rest in peace Ed.

I recently stumbled upon this memorial page and was granted access as a guest. I've since shared these thoughts and condolences with my siblings and mother. On behalf of the Pfender family, thank you all for sharing your thoughts, memories, and kind words. My dad knew that God had a plan for him, and it's always a comfort to hear how that plan impacted others so positively.

With sincerest gratitude,

The Pfender Family
