Elizabeth J. "Betty" Gibson

Bensalem - Elizabeth J. "Betty" Gibson, age 92 of Bensalem passed away October 20, 2021 at the Birches at Newtown. Born in Philadelphia, and a life long resident of Bensalem. Betty was a graduate of Bensalem High School, Class of 1946. She was employed as a Teachers Aide with the Bensalem School District, retiring in 1993 after 30 years of service. Betty was a very active member of the Cornwells United Methodist Church, where she played the organ for over 30 years. She started the soup kitchen, the "Kings Table" at Cornwells and was also instrumental in starting the flea market. Betty was the beloved wife of the late William Gibson. Devoted mother of William Gibson III and his wife Irene, Joann Jordan and her husband Thomas and Robert Gibson and his wife Susanne. Sister of Norman Bogarde (Sandra). Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Thursday 10:00 am at the Cornwells United Methodist Church, 2284 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020 followed by her service at 11:00 am. Interment Beechwood Cemetery, Bensalem. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Cornwells United Methodist Church Renovation Fund at the above address.
