In Memory

Dolores E. Lignore (McMahon) - Class Of 1946

Dolores E. Lignore (McMahon)

Our beloved mother 'Dolly' passed away quietly Saturday evening, Sept. 12, 2015, with her family by her side. She was 86 years young.

Born and raised in Eddington, Dolly was a 1946 graduate of Bensalem High School. She met her sweetheart, Paul, at the Philadelphia Arsenal and he swept her off her feet and waltzed her away to a wonderful life in West Bristol, in Cape May, N.J., where we spent our summers at the beach.

Dolly, a teacher, bookkeeper, den mother and Moose wife, enjoyed music, skiing, roller skating and dancing. Her laughter was contagious and memorable, her smile could light up a room. Mom was never shy to start a conversation with a stranger no matter where we were, and we could tell she always made that persons day a little more special.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and son, Steven.

She is survived by her children, John, Debora, La Verna and Alice; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sisters, Joyce and Gerry. Her love and laughter will be held dearly in our hearts.

Relatives and friends will be received by the family at 10 a.m., Friday, at the Hoffmann Funeral Home, 1770 Brown Ave, Bensalem, where the memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Bristol Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics of Delaware County, 503 Darby Rd., Havertown, PA 19083.

Condolences may be sent at the funeral home's web site listed below.Hoffmann Funeral Home, Bensalem
