Dennis E Warg 1969-1978 Math

Dennis E Warg 1969-1978 Math

Dennis E. Warg of Churchville died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at his home, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his devoted family. He was 70.

Born in Muncy, Pa., Dennis was the beloved husband of 47 years to Astrida Kalnins Warg, and son of the late Clifford E. and Mildred Croman Warg.

Dennis was a resident of Churchville for the past 38 years. He was a graduate of Muncy High School, Class of 1962. He received his undergraduate degree in Math from Lycoming College in 1967, where he played football and was co-captain of the team. He received his Master's degree in Guidance from the College of New Jersey and a Master's degree in Administration from Ryder University.

Dennis was a gentle giant with a firm handshake and glowing smile and a tough, but fair reputation. He started his professional career at Muncy High School teaching Math. Upon moving to Bucks County, Dennis started a 16 year career with the Bensalem School District as an administrator, math teacher and athletic director. In 1985, he joined the Council Rock School District as assistant principal and athletic director at Council Rock High School North and remained there until his retirement in 2002. Dennis was inducted to the Muncy Hall of Fame and Council Rock Hall of Fame and was the recipient of the Dick Dougherty Twin Sports Award for his 30 years of service to Lower Bucks County scholastic sports. He helped both Bensalem and Council Rock sports programs become successful, although winning to him was not everything. He was more concerned with how the student athletes represented themselves and their families.

Dennis was a sports enthusiast who loved golf, tennis, football, gardening, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his beloved wife, Dennis is survived by his two sons, Kristoffer D. Warg and his wife, Annemarie, and Erik D. Warg; and his brother, Richard A. Warg and his wife, Judy. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kaine C. and Kruz H. Warg, and Jake Zukowski; his sister-in-law, Sarmite Judson and her husband, Bill; and a niece and two nephews, Suzanne Holmes (Chris), Richard Warg Jr. (Jill), and Shawn Warg (Shelly).

Dennis's family will receive condolences from 11:30 a.m. until his Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to the Dennis E. Warg Scholarship Fund, c/o Newtown Community Foundation, P.O. Box 2073, Doylestown, PA 18901. www.fluehr.com

Mr. Warg was a great coach and inspiration. His obituary says it all, wxcept that he was also a bull back rider in the rodeo. A true inspiration for myself to try the thing that I did in my life.

Mrs. Warg, you have my condolences. I know you and Dennis shared a great life. I remeber you guys on our class trip to Washington D.C. in 1970.

I knew Dennis from working at Council Rock. He had me transferred from Newtown Middle to run maintenance at what is now CR North. He was a "Boys Will Be Boys" type of guy. We became friends & even though he was an administrator at Council Rock at times we would goof around with each other like kids. I remember he had a fish tank in his office stocked with Piranha. Who does that? RIP Dog
