Arleen Melamed 1987-1995 Music

Arleen Melamed, 66 of Bluffton and wife of Harvey Samuel Melamed passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at her home. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 16, 1948 to Anna Bacon Cohen and the late Israel Cohen. She was a musician, music teacher for students from 4 to 18 in Philadelphia at the Bensalem School District. She played cello in the Beaufort Orchestra and played for many weddings in the area. She was an artist who painted beach and other landscape scenes using pastels. She was a member of Temple Oseh Shalom, Mountain strings in Sun City, pianist for Temple chorus, volunteer at Hardeeville Elementary School and a member of the Red Hat Society where she served as Queen for two years. She is survived by her husband, Harvey S. Melamed; her mother, Anna Cohen of Bluffton; two sons, Jeffrey Melamed of Doyletown, PA and Richard "Rich" Melamed (Sapai) of Banckok, Thailand; three grandchildren, Jake Spencer, Alana Rose and Isaac Min-Khant. She was predeceased by her sister, Rhoda Wexler in 2000. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, Bluffton with burial in Oseh Shalom Section of Lowcountry Memorial Gardens, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. The family suggests memorials in memory of Arleen Melamed be made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, P.O. Box 3827, Bluffton, SC 29910.

Charles Smith 1973-1979 Music

Sorry to hear.  Her name is  Arleen Melamed.  She was a good friend and a good teacher.
