John F. Becker

John Becker John F. Becker, Sr., 86, of Hilltown Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 in ManorCare Health Services, Montgomeryville. He was the husband of 35 years to the late Maxine (Poore) Becker who died in 1983. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Herman and Ida (Bauer) Becker. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Becker was employed as a machinist for the former Leeds & Northrup, a Division of General Signal, in North Wales for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Hilltown. He was also a member and past president of the UAW, Local 1350. A former Boy Scout leader in Hilltown, he also enjoyed youth baseball and was a former member of the Hilltown Civic Association. He is survived by two sons: John F. Becker, Jr. and his wife Colleen of Hilltown, Herman Becker of Pocono Lake, five daughters: Linda Stauffer and her husband Ken of High Point, NC, Maxine Trauger and her husband Bruce of Hilltown, Trudy Thomas of Sellersville, Margaret Johnson and her husband Horace of Springtown, Janet Kline and her husband Richard of Revere, 21 grandchildren and 7 great granddaughters, a brother, Herman Becker and his wife Naomi of Greeley, CO, and a sister-in-law, Betty Becker of Sicklerville, NJ. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Becker. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11 AM in the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 N. Main St., Telford. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-9 PM and again on Friday morning from 10-11 AM prior to the service.
