Joan A. Lollis( neeGarcia)Joan Lollis, age 77, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 24th, 2021. She is survived by her loving sons: Greg (Diana) Lollis and Shawn (Randi) Lollis; treasured grandchildren: Eric, Coen, Taylor, Cori, Cami; and cherished great grandchild,Kash; and dear siblings: Lorraine Marek and Joseph (Terry) Garcia. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Donald Lollis in 2010, and her parents:Oriente and Alice. Joan was a graduate of Bensalem High School class of 1961. She moved from Pennsylvania and found employment at U.S. Steel, where she dedicated 38 years before retiring from the Met. Lab. She continued enjoying time with coworkers and friends at her luncheons with fellow USS retirees.Joan had many hobbies including knitting, sewing, and researching family history. “Granny” will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. Donations in her memory can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.Friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, January 27 from 2:00 – 6:00 pm at Calumet Park Funeral Chapel, 7535 Taft Street, Merrillville. Masks and social distancing are required throughout the visitation.
