Charles Bill

Charles “Charlie” R. Bill, Jr., age 77, passed away on August 3, 2018 at the St. Mary Medical Center,
Langhorne. He was the husband of Annette (Destremps) for 54 years until her death in 2014. Born on
June 4, 1941 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles and Edythe Bill. He was employed for
many years at U.S. Steel Fairless Works as an instrument repairman and later retired from Rohm and
Haas in Bristol. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Charlie enjoyed fishing and hunting and
especially riding his Harley with his late wife as a member of the Bucks County Chapter of the Harley
Owners Group (H.O.G.S). He loved cars and will be fondly remembered as being able to fix almost
anything that had moving parts. He also enjoyed cooking, often coming up with his own sometimes
novel recipes. Charlie was a resident of Brookdale Northampton for the past two years where he was
well liked and enjoyed “shooting the breeze” with friends and staff. Charlie was a member of St. Vincent
De Paul Roman Catholic Church, Richboro, PA.
Charlie is survived by his daughter Denise Martindell and her husband Jonathan; son Charles R. Bill, III
and his wife Michelle; daughter Lisa McCloskey and husband Tom; grandchildren Jonathan, Lauren,
Jacquelyn, Nicholas, Kirsten, Karley, and Jake; and great- grandchildren Warner and Everett. He was
predeceased by his daughter Deborah in 1985.
Charlie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent
De Paul Roman Catholic Church, 654 Hatboro Rd., Hatboro, PA. Friends and family may pay their
respects from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chandler Hall Hospice, 99 Barclay Street,
Newtown, PA 18940, where Charlie appreciated the loving care provided to his wife, or to a charity of
one’s choice.
