Richard M. Sware

Richard M. Sware HAMILTON TOWNSHIP Richard M. Sware, 88, a longtime resident of Hamilton Township, passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2018, at St. Joseph's Skilled Nursing Facility, Lawrenceville, NJ. He was born in New York City, moved to Pennsylvania in 1946, and to New Jersey in 1974. He was a graduate of Bensalem High School, class of 1947, and attended Drexel Institute of Technology after having served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Philadelphia Electric Company (now Exelon) for 34 years, retiring as a project manager, and spent many happy winters in Cape Coral, FL, to escape the cold in New Jersey. He was the son of the late William F. Sware, Otto Bauer, and Albina (Sutik) Bauer. He is survived by his loving wife, Annice (Terry ) Sware; son, Richard M. Sware Jr. and wife, Jean M Sware, of Lancaster, PA; daughter, Ruth Ann Sware of Quakertown, PA; daughter Jill Terry of Bristol, PA; son-in-law, Dr. Raymond Jones of White Hall, AR; grandsons, Marc A. Pitt of Leverkeusen, Germany; Matthew M. Sware of Brooklyn, N.Y.; J. Matthew Jones of Bartlesville, OK, and granddaughters, Stephanie Jones Jackson of Jonesboro, AR; Jamie Lynn Jones-Dill of Little Rock, AR, and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by daughter, Sharin Terry Jones, and son, Lee M Terry. Calling hours will be Sunday, from 3 to 5 p.m., with services at 5 p.m., in the Hartmann Memorial Home, 2830 Nottingham Way, Mercerville, NJ. Cremation and entombment of cremains will be private in the Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dick's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or an animal shelter of the donor's choice.
