James M. Scotty Bain

BAIN James “ Scotty” McKay Bain Jr., 65, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004, in Orange Park, FL. Mr. Bain was born in Aberdeen, Scotland moving to the United States 43 years ago, his naturalization date was June 19, 1961. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, Army, National Guard and retired as Major in the Army Reserve after 22 years. He was well known for his editing skills with the Construction Bulletin and also worked for Hydro Conduit, Southern Culvert and Taylor Precast and was also a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife Claudia Lynne Bain, sons; James McKay Bain III of Middleburg, FL and William Gerald McKay Bain of Lake Asbury, FL, step daughters; Deborah L. Greene (Steven P. Combs) of Jacksonville, FL, Stephanie Carpenter (Michael) and Emily Clark (Donald) of Jacksonville Beach, FL, sisters; Gladys Bain Lessig of Milford, NJ and Patricia Bain Silverman of Orlando , FL, grandchildren; Jacob Scott Bain, Kyndall Nevada Bain, and Kyla Anne Bain, including 4 step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Pons Family Funeral Home, 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, with Reverend Charlie Hunt officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in memory of Scotty to the American Red Cross.
