John J. Ziegelhofer - Class Of 1981

John J. Ziegelhofer

John J. Ziegelhofer of Levittown passed away suddenly Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015. He was 51.

John was born in Philadelphia and was a resident of Levittown for the last 22 years and was formerly of Bensalem. He was a graduate of Bensalem High School, Class of 1981. John was an avid Phillies, Flyers and Cowboys fan. He also loved spending time outdoors whether that was fishing, landscaping or going to the beach. John loved his sports cars but his greatest joy and love in life was of course his family; he loved to spend time with his granddaughter, Leah.

John worked as a warehouse employee for UPS for 30 years.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Danette K. (Hunsinger). He also is survived by his loving son, Robert P. Kinney (Sara); granddaughter, Leah and one boy on the way named Shane; mother, Barbara N., and son of the late John J. Ziegelhofer; uncle, Ed Groh (Dolores); cousins, Ed Groh (Kathleen) and Brian Groh; and several nieces and nephews.

He was best known by his loving neighbors as the mayor of Begonia Lane.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Rite of committal will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, 3401 Civic Center Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19104.Tomlinson Funeral Home, Bensalem

Dennis G. Cooney (1981)

In the baseball cages for tryouts, Ziggy was the Chase Utley of our generation. The coaches would have us all stop and look at the "quick hands" that got John to every pitch. Good guy!
