Marion Ferguson (Mattocks) Obituary

Marion Ferguson, age 94, of Sewell, NJ, formerly of Maple Shade and Shamong, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on April 7, 2026. 

Marion was born on April 25, 1931 to the late Janet and Myron Mattocks in Newportville Heights, PA. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Marion had a caring and creative spirit, always expressing her love through the things she made with her hands whether it be blankets and hats for babies or making uniforms for the Lenape High School band. Marion also enjoyed quiet moments spent reading, finding comfort and relaxation in a good book. She will be missed deeply by her loved ones. 

Marion is survived by her children, Dean Ferguson (Janice), Denise Lemons (Christopher) and Jackie Traino (Mark); her 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews. Marion is predeceased by her husband of 44 years, James M., her daughter, Linda Van Slaars (the late David) and her siblings, Frances Clark, Janet Kohler, Ruth Kauffman and Myron Mattocks. 

Relatives and friends are invited to Marion's viewing on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 10AM - 11AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Funeral service to follow at 11AM. Interment will be held privately at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
