Angela Giampietro Obituary
Angela "Angie" Anna Giampietro passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025 at Buckingham Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Buckingham, Bucks County, Pennsylvania after a wonderfully full and fulfilling life of ninety years.
Angie was born in Philadelphia in 1935 to Michael and Velia Gabriele. She grew up in a neighborhood affectionately known as the "cabbage patch" in Andalusia, Bucks County and into a large, loving extended Italian-American family originating from South Philadelphia. She graduated from Bensalem High School in 1952, then met and married Robert L. Collins in 1953. Robert's health issues eventually led to Angie raising her children as a single parent while working in the office of Archbishop Ryan High School, a job she performed with conscientious dedication for 35 years.
In 1979, Angie's life changed when she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Giampietro. In the coming decades, Angie and Bob were inseparable as they enjoyed the life they created together, helped and celebrated their children, grandchildren, extended family and friends, and successfully pursued their shared dreams including a house on the bay in Ocean City, New Jersey and a winter home among friends in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Collins Reid (Michael), stepchildren - Robert Giampietro (Amy), and Jennifer Pienkowski (Christopher), her grandchildren - Corey Corrigan (Colin), Chelsea Rdesinski (Andrew), Haley, Ava, Jack, Chris, Ben, Jake, Lia and Eden, and her great grandchildren - Harper, Jonathon, Finn, and Fiona. Angie is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Velia (Tavani) Gabriele, Robert Collins, Bobby Collins, Bob Giampietro, her brothers, Michael and Frederick Gabriele, and her great grandson, Jude Reid Rdesinski.
To her grandchildren, Angie will always be cherished as their beloved Grammy. She loved dancing, playing games, especially Scrabble, and staying physically active. For many years, Angie crocheted beautiful afghans for family and friends and, in the past few years, she joined several sewing circles where she learned to quilt. She created many self-designed, meticulously-sewn table runners and ornaments which she gave as gifts. Angie will be remembered by all these creations of the heart, as well as, her determined spirit that enabled her to overcome life's challenges, all the good times she shared over her long, full, well-lived life, and her unfailing love and support for her family.
Family and friends are invited to Angie's Life Celebration on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am.
