Dorothy Orolin Obituary
After suffering a major stroke, Dorothy Orolin passed away Feb. 24, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in Philadelphia, she moved to Sacramento 37 years ago and began working at Alta Regional Center as a family social worker. As an avid reader, she was active in the weekly New Yorker Renaissance group. As a lover of dogs, she volunteered and supported financially the Sacramento SPCA, Best Friends, and Peta. Being a passionate musician, she performed in several groups playing both recorders and viola da gambas. As an imaginative story teller, she entertained her friends with many stories. As a nature lover, she fed birds daily with her squirrel-free bird feeders. She went on several bird tours locally and abroad. As a world traveler Dorothy journeyed to Mexico, Europe, Asia, Central America and Russia.
Dorothy leaves behind her 100 year old brother Bill and her son Alex, and Billie Hamilton, her partner of 37 years. Donations may be made to SSPCA, 6201 Florin Perkins Road, Sacramento, Ca 95818.
