Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Margaret Lake, affectionately known as Peggy, who left us peacefully on March 24, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Lower Bensalem Township, she graduated from Bensalem High School in 1953. She worked at various jobs after graduation until she married in 1955.
As a devoted homemaker, she supported her loved ones and built a legacy of love and fond memories that will remain in the hearts of her family.
She made lifelong friends wherever she resided from her early years in Bensalem to Philadelphia, Bucks County, and her later years as a resident of West Chester, PA. Peggy had fond memories fishing and spending time with her father and that continued on with her family. She loved the outdoors and created great memories, spending many summers in our pop-up camper. She supported us in our passions and rarely missed a baseball or soccer game. She was always up for a new adventure. Peggy was a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and enjoyed watching her boys of summer play every season. She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards and cooking. She was a great MOM.
Margaret is survived by son, Lewis G Lake, Jr., and his wife, Denise; as well as Gary D. Lake, and his wife, Cathy; and her daughter-in-law, Patty Lake (the late Alan), as well as her grandchildren; Nicole, Nicole, Kaitlyn (Kevin), Evan, Matthew, Lewis, Colin, Allison, and Madison, and her great grandchildren, Olivia and Quinn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis, her parents, William Henry Durr and Helen Fletcher (nee Shuttleworth) Durr, and her sisters, Helen, Rosemary and Harriet.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margaret’s viewing at Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020 on Thursday, April 3rd from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM followed by her service at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
