Jane McIlhenny (Weik) - Class Of 1954

Jane McIlhenny (Weik)

Jane E. (McIlhenny) Weik, age 89, of Sellersville, PA, formerly of Hilltown, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at The Community at Rockhill in Sellersville.

She was the beloved wife of John A. Weik for 27 years, until his death in 1989. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Jane was the daughter of the late Robert A. McIlhenny and Bette (Walker) McIlhenny.

Jane was a proud graduate of Bensalem High School, Class of 1954, and then worked for a few years after high school to save the money to put herself through nursing school. She graduated from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Wilmington, Delaware in 1961. Her calling was in psychiatric nursing, working at Byberry State Hospital, Eastern State Children's Hospital and for over 20 years Northwestern Institute of Psychiatry, in Fort Washington, PA, where she rose to House Supervisor. She also enjoyed stints as a school nurse when her children were young.

She is survived by her three daughters: Heather W. Collins and her husband David of Chester, PA; Dorothy K. Weik-Hange and her husband Phil Hange of Perkasie, PA; and Heidi M. McElwee and her husband John of Pipersville, PA. She is also survived by her brother, Charles McIlhenny and his wife Elsie Jean of Perkasie, PA; her sisters, Beth E. McIlhenny of West Chester, PA, and Grace K. Michael and her husband Keith of West Chester, PA; and her five grandchildren, Meredith Collins, Elinor Reitz and her husband Max, Lillian McElwee, Ian McElwee, Andrew McElwee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband John, Jane was preceded in death by her son, John C. Weik; her brother, Robert McIlhenny, and her sisters, Patricia A. Clungeon and Ruth B. McIlhenny.

Jane’s family is immensely grateful for the compassionate care given to her during her years at Rockhill. Jane was passionate about caring for others, and believed heartily in Rockhill's Benevolent Fund. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Jane’s memory to the Benevolent Fund at The Community at Rockhill, 3250 State Road, Sellersville, PA 18960.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Internment will take place at Hilltown Baptist Church Lower Cemetery.
