Martha Smith

MARCH 19, 1924 – JANUARY 16, 2023

WRIGHTSTOWN - Martha E. Smith passed away peacefully in her home in Wrightstown on Monday, January 16, 2023. She was 98.

Born in Bristol, PA on March 19, 1924, she resided there for about 61 years before retiring to Mansfield, PA for 35 years. She and her husband, Elwood, moved to the Holiday City Community of Berkeley in July 2021.

Martha was a true caregiver by nature. In addition to raising her six children, she took in her mother and mother-in-law to care for them in their waning years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, who welcomed her children's spouses into her family with open arms. A seamstress and baker, she was a woman of many talents. Whether she physically cared for family members, or made them feel at home with the aroma of her fresh baked bread, she will be forever loved and cherished by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 79 years, Elwood in October 2021; and her siblings: James King and Sarah King.

Surviving are her children: Elwood (Kathy), Henry (Amber), William (Fran), David (Deborah), Ellen (Arlan), and Sarah (Mike); 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence King.
