Obituary

Joan L. (Metzler) Brous, of Bensalem passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the age of 81. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Leslie and Roxie (Rainey) Metzler and was a resident of Bensalem for the last 57 years.

For 19 years, she served as a medical secretary for Dr. DiGregorio, where her commitment and professionalism were admired by colleagues and patients alike.

Joan was a woman of deep faith, and her devotion led her to become a founding member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a devout parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Her spirituality remained a guiding force throughout her life, offering her strength and comfort during both joyous and challenging times. She also enjoyed listening to music, especially Andrea Bocelli.

Joan leaves behind her beloved husband Charles R. Brous. She is also survived by her children: Patricia Brous-Thierjung, Charles J. “CJ” Brous (Michelle), Jennifer Tammaro (Anthony), and Joseph Brous; Her sister, Barbara Brous (Edward); Her seven grandchildren and three great-grandsons, who brought endless laughter and happiness into her life. Joan embraced her role as a grandmother, creating lasting memories and instilling in her grandchildren the values she held dear. Joan was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Nicole Thierjung.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday, December 18, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1731 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Rite of Committal Resurrection Cemetery. www.tomlinsonfh.com
