October 14, 1944 – October 8, 2025

On October 8, 2025, Patricia (Patty) Hauber departed her earthly body and entered into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 80 years old.

Patty was born in 1944 at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Betty Ann and E. Albert. Her mother’s first prayer was that she might raise her daughter to follow Christ. That prayer was answered when, at age 12, during a church retreat, Patty accepted Jesus as the Son of God and the Lord of her life. She remained a devoted believer and was a faithful member of Calvary Church for more than 50 years.

Patty married the love of her life, George D. Hauber, and together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage before his passing. She is lovingly remembered by their four children: G. David and Christine Hauber, William R. Hauber II, Tricia L. Hauber, and Suzanne L. Hauber; as well as their grandchildren: Jamie Marie and Cory Hockaday, Coleman and Emily Hauber, Jonathan and Hannah Hauber, Ian Hauber, and Jason Weiderwax.

In 1978, Patty and George followed God’s call to serve as missionaries with SEND International in the Philippines. They served as dorm parents at Faith Academy, caring for 20 boys in grades 7 through 11 while also raising their own four children. Their years on the mission field were marked by faith, hospitality, and a deep love for the people they served.

Patty also played a meaningful role at Millersville University as part of the Faculty Wives organization while George was an Industrial Arts professor for 37 years. In 1984, she helped found the Red Rose Quilters Guild in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She remained an active member throughout her life, holding many leadership roles and serving as the last living charter member. Quilting was not only a craft she loved, but also a way she built lasting friendships and community.

Together, Patty and George dedicated their lives to missions. They spent most of their vacations serving others, taking more than 40 mission trips around the world. Their work included teaching computer technology at Pacific Island Bible College, assisting with construction projects, and teaching quilting to women in Hungary. They also served in many states across the U.S., including Alaska, Texas, South Dakota, North Dakota, Kentucky, and New Jersey.

In 1987, Patty earned her Licensed Practical Nursing degree and spent 20 years serving patients through Brethren Village Home Health Agency in Lititz, Pennsylvania. She also obtained her nursing license while living in Guam, continuing her lifelong commitment to caring for others with compassion and grace.

As members of Calvary Church, Patty and George spent 25 years faithfully maintaining the church’s missionary homes, supporting its Global Outreach ministry. Patty will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, and her love for her family and community.
