Marge Kirk (McDonagh)

Margaret McDonagh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Society of Berks County, Inc. on Jul. 10, 2026.

Margaret McDonagh, aged 82, of Doylestown, PA, peacefully departed this life on Saturday,
July 4, 2026, at Bristol House Memory Care Assisted Living in Warrington, PA, in the presence
of loved ones. She was born on May 30, 1944, in Bensalem, PA, to the late John Henry Kirk Jr.
and Anna Kirk (née Burgert).

Following her graduation from Bensalem High School in 1962, she worked at the Johnsville
Naval Air Development Center in Warminster, PA, where she met her husband, Ron. After their
marriage, Marge resigned from her position at Johnsville and embraced the responsibilities of a
stay-at-home mother, caring for her stepson, daughter, and son. She remained a homemaker
until her children finished their education and achieved independence, later also assisting with
the care of her youngest grandchildren.

Marge loved Jesus and endeavored to love and serve Him to the best of her ability. As a
talented organizer, she played a significant role in managing the summer vacation Bible school
for numerous years at First Baptist Church of Doylestown, PA. Decades later, she attended
Calvary Chapel Central Bucks in Chalfont, PA, where she volunteered and contributed to
various children's ministries, even participating in their summer KidCamp, three years ago, at
the age of 79.

She found joy in being outdoors amidst God's creation, taking walks, observing the birds at her
backyard feeders, and particularly checking the bluebird nesting boxes. She often took her
great-grandchildren along to gently check on the nests and see the newly hatched baby birds.
Marge ensured that there was always space at the dinner table for additional guests.
Frequently, the family welcomed friends, and at times even unfamiliar faces, particularly during
holidays. Marge was determined that no one should spend a holiday in solitude, especially at
Christmas.

As her children grew older and departed from the family home, and even after the death of her
husband in 2009, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage, the empty bedrooms were
readily available for anyone requiring a place to stay. If someone needed a family to join for a
holiday, a place to sleep, or any other form of support, they usually received a warm and
positive response when they asked. Marge held a deep appreciation for the value of people.

Marge leaves behind her stepson Mark, daughter Amy Katherine Wolff, son Michael and his
wife Mary Lassiter, and former daughter-in-law Barbara Haines McDonagh, who has been
Marge's faithful caregiver in her final years.

She is also survived by granddaughters Lauren McDonagh Clifton, Rachel McDonagh Walczer
and husband Quinton, Islyn McDonagh, grandsons Hunter Brown, Ethan McDonagh, Aidan
McDonagh, Osian McDonagh, great-granddaughter Lemmie Clifton, and great-grandsons
Lincoln Walczer and August Walczer.

In addition to her husband, parents, and an older sister, Marge was preceded in death by a
grandson, Colton Matthew Brown.
