Cheryl Messer Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home Inc on Oct. 13, 2024.
Cheryl Lynn Fryling Messer, 61, of Levittown, PA, passed away unexpectedly on September 30, 2024. Born in Bristol, PA, she was the daughter of the late Warren Fryling and Myrtle Dorothy Fryling (Albright).
Cheryl was a proud graduate of Bensalem High School. Cheryl embraced many roles throughout her life – teacher, chef, nurse, "chauffeur" – always giving of herself to help others. Cheryl was joyfully pursuing her associate's degree in paralegal studies but put her education on hold to embrace the fulfilling role of becoming a mother, a decision she made with love and dedication to her growing family. With an endless heart, she was deeply involved in her community, such as the First United Methodist Church of Fairless Hills, and other local churches, where she was instrumental by participating in food baskets, clothing drives, and adopting families in need during the holidays. Previously, she was also an assistant teacher with Bucks County Head Start. Cheryl's greatest joy came from her roles as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and "cheer mom/grandma," as she selflessly poured her heart into her family, always putting them first. She also always found ways to brighten the days of others, by leaving refreshments/treats for delivery drivers as a gesture of gratitude.
When not serving others, Cheryl found immense joy in gardening, crocheting, and shopping. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, from trips to the Wildwood beach and boardwalk, to watching reality tv, decorating for every season and holiday, wrapping presents, soaking in the pool, getting her nails done, and playing games like Bingo and Phase 10. All these pleasures allowed Cheryl to spend time with family and friends, which was her absolute favorite thing to do. Cheryl's warmth, kindness, and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Todd Messer; her devoted daughters and son – Angie, Jennifer, Jessica, Elizabeth, Scotlyn, and Austin; and sons-in-law – Bernardo, Andre, Mehmet, Peter, and Gregg. She leaves behind her darling grandchildren – Natasha, Kylie, Emin, Jaiden, Nicholas, Asiye, Tristen, Tessa, Lucas, Haleigh, Dean, Jaxson, Leia, and Penelope, her beloved siblings, Nancy and George, and numerous friends and extended family members.
She was predeceased by her aunt Grace Albright, sister, Terri, and brother, Stephen.
Family and friends are invited to Cheryl's Life Celebration on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 11:00am-12:30pm at Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, 378 South Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047. Her Funeral Service will follow from 12:30-1:30pm.
Interment at 2:30pm, Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, PA.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the unconditional love and support you have shown them during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, they would be most appreciative of monetary donations to assist with Cheryl's final arrangements. For those wishing to contribute, please contact her daughters.
