Victor T. Black died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, following a lengthy illness. He was 85.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was a 33-year resident of Bensalem.

Victor attended St. Michael grade school in Philadelphia and Bensalem High School.

He worked for SEPTA for 39 years and retired as a district supervisor, in 1987.

Victor was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II.

He was a member of Bustleton American Legion Post 810 and Quaker City Lodge 1888 Loyal Order of the Moose.

Victor was a private pilot who enjoyed flying, dancing and going on cruises.

He was the beloved husband for 33 years of Kathleen M. (Murphy) Black; devoted father of Victor T. Black Jr. (Wanda), Michael Black (the late Paula), Philip Black (Helen), Joseph Black (Joann), David Black (Patricia) and Stephen Black (Barbara); and brother of Ann Krause (Ed) and Helen Widlund (Gus). He also is survived by 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing and funeral from 8:15 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Fluehr Funeral Home, 864 Bristol Pike, Bensalem. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ephrem Church, 5340 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. Rite of committal will be in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown. No viewing on Monday evening.
