Brian Scott Futch Sr., age 49, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry Sr. and Linda Futch; and ex wife Michele Minner (married 20 years).
He is survived by his sons, Brian Futch Jr., Brandon Futch; daughter, Jessica (Justin) Hammond-Duran; Granddaughter, Katherine Hammond-Duran; re-married Keri Smith in 2012, children from that marriage were Sarah and Hannah Smith.
Brian served in the National Guard as a Medic. He went on to become a truck driver of all types, over the course of 27 years. He gave 100% of himself in whatever he was doing. He Influenced the lives of all those around him with kind, loving, inspiring, and sarcastic words. Loved 80's music mainly hair band, and thrash metal. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi. He loved everything about the beach, his favorite thing was watching the sunrise in the morning at the beach
His favorite movies were mainly Star Wars, Harry Potter, Star Trek, and all the Marvel movies but he also enjoyed a wide variety of movies and romantic comedies. His all-time favorite tv show was Gilmore Girls.
He loved to cook and bake. His favorite thing to bake was his cheese cake. it took him years to perfect his, but it was amazing every single time and there wasn’t many people that didn’t enjoy every bite of it.
Some of his favorite sweets was watermelon or cherry (his Favorite) water ice. Reeses cups that sat in the freezer for hours. Mint Chocolate chip ice cream never lasted long when he got it, and he had a weakness for all types of cookies.
He enjoyed playing video games and watching sports, mainly football but he enjoyed them all. He was an Eagles fan for life.
He was a loving parent, always there and always able to rely and lean on. He shared everything he knew with his kids. He always had the right answer and if not he knew exactly how to talk you into figuring out your solution. He was a natural problem solver and an amazing dad.
He adored being a grandparent. he loved taking Katherine out for ice cream, and spoiling her at any moment he could get, like buying her lightsabers so they could play Star Wars together. His favorite thing was just spending time with her watching Disney movies.
He was a friend to many and like a parent to his children’s friends.
He was always the strongest in the room and one you can rely on no matter what.
He was a kind, down to earth guy, easy to talk to, laid back, non-judgmental, and was a Christian.
He shared a love for all animals especially dogs. From our chihuahuas or his Great Danes Yogi Bear and Rocky.
He was a hard worker and enthusiastic about almost everything. He was always cutting jokes and making someone laugh.
His sense of humor was often times bigger than himself.
He was a sweetheart and loved everything about romance. He loved being mushy when given the chance.
He had experienced so much in life and always had words to calm the mind or expand it.
He was a fighter and fought as long as he could. He gave it his all. he is loved by many and will live on in us all
