Trevose Resident Anna l. Herritt (nee Ridge), age 91, of Trevose died on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Doylestown Hospital. Born and raised in Trevose, Mrs. Herritt was a lifelong resident of Trevose before moving to Doylestown two months ago. She was a past president of the Trevose Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Herritt was also a past President of both the YWCA at Trevose Methodist Church and the Home and School Association at Trevose School. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and has been an avid bowler at the former Street Lanes in Feasterville. She was employed for many years as a trash truck driver for the family business in Trevose. Mrs. Herritt was the beloved wife of the late Roscoe A. Herritt, Sr. and the mother of the late Roscoe A. Herritt, Jr. She is the loving mother of Lillian Wilson and her husband Edward of Levittown, Mary Jane Lindsay of Chalfont, Lorraine Sozanski and her companion Jim Glynn of Bensalem, and Robert L. Herritt and his wife Georgann of Bensalem. She was the grandmother of the late Nancy Schaffer and is survived by ten grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and one brother George Ridge of Bensalem and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown where friends may call from 7:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment is private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice. |
