Benjamin P. Sam Samsel

Benjamin P. Samsel, "Come to me you that are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" Matthew 11:28; Ben heard this call from his Lord and Maker and peacefully passed away Tuesday Oct. 8, 2013 at the Arden Courts Memory Care Community. He was 86.

Ben served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Bell Telephone Co. after 28 years of service. Ben was a 1968 inductee into Bensalem High School Owls Hall of Fame and will always be remembered for his love of baseball. He also enjoyed a good game of pinochle and trips to the casino.

Ben was the beloved husband of the late Margaret "Peg" (Wilkom) Samsel, whom he married on Aug. 5, 1955.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Diane Meadows and her husband, Woody of Raleigh, N.C., Karen Samsel of Bristol, and Cheryl Samsel of Newportville; and his two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nick (Sarah).

Ben will be sadly missed not only by his loving family who will cherish his memory and devotion but by all those he befriended during his lifetime.

A Memorial Service will be held at the James O. Bradley Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Bellevue Ave., Penndel, PA 19047 at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Relatives and friends will be welcomed by his family from 10:30 a.m. until time of the service. Please join the family in sharing your favorite story, anecdote or remembrance of Ben.
