Obituary

Carl Herman Hayes, age 94 of Waynesville, NC., passed away December 25, 2024, at his son’s home in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born in Philadelphia on July 23,1930. He was a longtime resident of Feasterville, PA before moving to Waynesville, NC., where he has lived for the past 35 years. Carl was a graduate of Bensalem High School. Class of 1948. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and served in the Korean War. He was the owner and operator of his family service station in Cornwells Heights, Flying “A” and Hayes Getty station. He also worked with Silvi Concrete and was a self-employed Truck Driver until his retirement in 1989. After moving to Waynesville, he worked several part-time jobs to include Walmart Greeter and a driver. He was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, caring for his yard and loved to strike up a conversation with his neighbors.

Carl was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances (Henderson) of 29 years and his second wife Jeanette (Parr) of 35 years. Father of the late Joseph and Carl who passed away at birth. Brother of the late William (Susan) Hayes, and stepfather of the late Barbara Baust, Cindy Baldwin and William Baldwin.
He will be sadly missed by his children; Michael Hayes (Sandy), Penndel, PA., Robert Hayes of Myrtle Beach, SC., Thomas Hayes of Myrtle Beach, SC and Norah Spencer (Bruce) of Bristol. PA. her children Sarah Lehman (Matthew), Stephanie Mack (the late Martin) and Ashley Spencer.

Carl is also survived by Grandchildren Robert (Karen) Capobianco, Autumn (Dennis) Phipps and Shane Baldwin, Joshua (Jennifer) Baldwin. his great grandchildren; Olivia and Rowan Mack, Alyssa and Alexander Capobianco.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation Friday February 7, 2025, between 12:00 and 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm at Tomlinson Funeral Home 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020. Interment will be at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
