Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William C. Sommerfeld, a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend. William, born on January 12, 1934, in Bensalem, PA, to the late Clifford H. and Marion E. Sommerfeld, peacefully left this world on November 16, 2024.
He was a devoted roofer in the construction industry for Joseph Tomes and Sons, where he dedicated his hard work and skills. William also worked for many years at Badenhausen in Bensalem.

William had a passion for fishing, vacations in Florida, and attending Bensalem High School Reunions, but his greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family. He cherished every moment shared with his children, June Kramer (Richard Matthew), Kim Teller (the late Mitchell), Edith Tomes (the late Edward), and Robert W Trommer (the late Kathleen), as well as his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edith Marie (nee Wolf), and his brother, Clifford A. Sommerfeld (the late Eileen "Toots" ).

A proud Army veteran, William served his country with honor, enlisting on August 21, 1956, and achieving the rank of Sp4 before being discharged on August 20, 1958.

His memory will forever be treasured by those he leaves behind. William's life will be celebrated at a Memorial Service on November 27, 2024, at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Bensalem, PA, beginning at 10:00 am, with a public viewing scheduled at 9:00 am. Interment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, a fitting tribute to a man who touched the lives of many.

William C. Sommerfeld's kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace as his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
