Robert M. Frantz

Robert Marshall Frantz, 81, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at his home in Augusta, Georgia.

Mr. Frantz was the son of the late Alfred Garwood Frantz and the late Mildred Marshall Frantz. He was the husband of the late Myra Jean Cogburn Frantz.

He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he played basketball for the Gamecocks. "Bob" was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his buddies at West Lake and Redeemer Church. He was a devout Atlanta Braves fan and strawberry pie connoisseur. He was a generous and loving father, grandfather and faithful believer who led by example.

Surviving are his two daughters, Laura Leigh Frantz of Augusta, Georgia, and Jennifer Frantz Boyd and her husband, Bryan David Boyd, of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Ashleigh M. Boyd and Robert B. Boyd of Atlanta; and a brother and sister in-law, Alfred "Chuck" Garwood Frantz, Jr. and Wanda Watson Frantz of Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Charlie Stakely officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include: Bryan Boyd, Bill McKettrick, John Owens, Gene Renno, John Rox, Mark Tuley and Mike Ward. Honorary pallbearers are: Warren Allen, Ben Couch, Bruce Harris, Bill Howard, Everett Newsome, Carl Sewell, Jim Wilson and any members of the West Lake Wednesday Men's Group.

Memorials may be made to Redeemer Presbyterian Church, 2540 William Few Parkway, Evans, Georgia 30809.
