Jane Jenkins
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Jane Jenkins, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and cherished friend, who passed away peacefully on November 4, 2026, at the age of 85.
Jane was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Raymond and Helen (née Keaton) Vickers and spent her childhood in Andalusia, where she resided until adulthood. After marrying Roger, they made their home in Langhorne, where they raised their daughters.
Jane devoted more than 25 years of her life to education and nurturing young minds as a teacher in the Bensalem School District. She spent much of her career at Armstrong Middle School, where she found great purpose in making mathematics accessible to students with diverse learning needs. A proud graduate of Bensalem High School, Class of 1958, Jane continued her education at West Chester University, graduating in 1962.
Her commitment to teaching and guiding young people began long before her professional career. She spent many summers teaching youth camps and was actively involved throughout her years at Bensalem High School, serving as yearbook editor-in-chief and class president, while also participating on the field hockey team. That same spirit of dedication and service continued as she raised her daughters. Jane spent her Sundays teaching Sunday School and was an active and devoted member of the Vestry at the Church of the Redeemer in Andalusia.
Jane's love of learning and creativity extended well beyond the classroom. She was an avid reader and had a special interest in genealogy, taking great pleasure in discovering and preserving her family's history. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and knitting, creating beautiful handmade gifts that were treasured by family and friends.
Jane was a longtime member of the Langhorne Women's Club and enjoyed participating in Red Hat events and the Arbourettes, where she valued the friendships, laughter, and fellowship she shared with others. She especially cherished shopping trips to Bockville with her sister Karen and their annual visits to the Philadelphia Flower Show, traditions that created many special memories together. Summers spent with her extended family on Long Beach Island held a special place in her heart. She also looked forward to lunch dates with dear friends from Bensalem and West Chester, where good conversation, laughter, and time together were always enjoyed. These friendships, family traditions, and simple pleasures brought Jane great happiness throughout her life.
Above all, Jane was devoted to her family and took great joy in being involved in her daughters' lives. She spent six years as the dedicated team mom for their cross-country team, always offering her support and encouragement. When her grandsons came along, Jane continued that same enthusiasm, and you could always find her on the sidelines or in the audience cheering them on at their many activities. She was one of their biggest supporters and took great pride in watching them grow.
Jane is survived by her devoted daughters, Kathi Jenkins (Ron Cooney) and Tracy Dixon (Dave); and her treasured grandsons, Blake and Hunter Ewaskey. She also leaves behind her beloved siblings: brother Jim Vickers (Nancy), sister Karen Vickers-Budney (Jeb), and brother Steve Vickers, along with many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
In a particularly poignant turn of events, Jane's beloved husband of 63 years, Roger Earle Jenkins, passed away just hours after her. Together, they shared a lifetime of love and family, and their passing so close together marks the end of a remarkable journey they shared.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jane and Roger’s visitation at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, Pa 19020 on Saturday, November 14th from 10:00-11:0 AM followed by their memorial service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, https://American Cancer Society/ or Gary Sinise Foundation https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/
Jane will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, love for teaching, and family will forever influence those who had the privilege of knowing her.
