John George Elinich

March 28, 1942 – January 16, 2025

John George Elinich, Jr., of Nazareth, PA, passed away at age 82 on January 16th, 2025.

John was born on March 28th, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA to parents John George Elinich, Sr. and Sarah (Finan) Elinich.

John loved going shooting with his sons, fishing, and camping. He was a great mentor of the youth as an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout troop #76 in Nazareth, PA. John was Honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant after 6+ years of faithful military service from 1960-1966. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Cornwell’s Fire Company from 1966 to 1985 in Bensalem, PA, his highest position being Assistant Chief. John became a machinist in 1966 and spent 38 years as a manual CNC, turret and lathe operator and retired in 2004.

John was preceded in death by his father, John George Elinich, Sr.; mother, Sarah Elinich; 2 brothers, James V. Elinich and Thomas Elinich; 4 sisters, Ann Marie Musil (Elinich), Elizabeth Sorge (Elinich), Josephine Elinich and Christine Elinich.

John is surviving by his 4 sons, John Charles Elinich, Richard (Hannah) Bailey, Jr., Timothy (Emily) Bailey, and Daniel (Erika) Elinich; daughter, Jean (Devin) Marchut; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas (Stephanie) Nauta, Lilah James Bailey, Harper Grace Bailey, Benjamin Richard Bailey, Bradley Richard Bailey, and Brianna Richard Bailey; great grandchild, Alexander Joseph Nauta; brother, Edward Elinich; 3 sisters, Susan Whitson, Mary (Jerry) Fatkin, and Barbara (Paul) Bouillon.

Family will hold private services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Daniel Elinich at 103 Holiday Drive, White Haven, PA 18661.
