My condolences to Charles' family and friends. I remember him exactly as described—with a warm spirit and genuine nature. He was also a great musician. When Charles (Chuck as I knew him) was a senior at Bensalem and ready to graduate, I was going into my sophomore year. The band he was in performed at an Assembly towards the end of the school year. They played "Tequila" and "I've Had It" which were popular at the time, along with some other tunes. The band made quite an impression on students. The band also played at Canteen. Canteen was Bensalem's school dance, held weekly, that most students enjoyed very much during that time period. I began dating the saxophonist in the band, and that is how I got to know Charles. I attended some practice sessions, which were so much fun. Charles showed so much patience and understanding with his band members as they practiced over and over. Of course, as things usually go with bands, the original band broke up at some point, and I never saw Charles again. I stayed in touch and great friends with the saxophonist, who passed five years ago this April. I was sorry to see that Charles has now left us. Very nice memories of those years and Charles. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

My regrets to the family. I remember Chuck as manager of our football team. He was usually on the sideline near Coach VanHorn in case something was needed.
One game, which we should have been winning, was a close contest in the first half. Rumor went through the team that Chuck had loaded VanHorn's cigar. The team worried that it would go off before our team had a lead. I don't recall whether it exploded or was a dudd -- maybe someone else can add to this memory. I regret not having contact with Chuck after graduation and knowing about his life well lived. George Stockman
