Obituary
Ceasar Leonard DeLorenzo (Sonny), a beloved husband, father, and longtime resident of Bensalem, PA, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born on January 24, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Ceasar and Helen DeLorenzo (nee Koniecka).
Sonny was a dedicated longshoreman at the Philadelphia Marine Trade Association and a proud member of the ILA for over 30 years. In addition to his work, Sonny found joy in gardening, reading (particularly about world history) and discussing politics. He spent a number of years coaching CYO track and field at St. Charles Borromeo where he was affectionately known as “Mr. D.” When he wasn’t at home with his sidekick Chloe, a Jack Russell Terrier, he could often be found drinking a cold beer on the deck in Ocean City, NJ. He was also a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan.
He is survived by his devoted spouse, Mary DeLorenzo (nee Berna), and his loving daughters, Amanda DeLorenzo, Regina DeLorenzo, and Marcia DeLorenzo-Rosci (Daniel), as well as his grandchildren, Anthony Conrey, Lila, Emma, and Dominic Rosci, niece Joan Murphy, and nephews Kevin, Andrew, and Ted Berna. He was preceded in death by his sister, Francesca Kessler, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sonny will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity towards those in need, and dedication to his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sonny’s viewing at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020 on Sunday, November 10th from 6:00-8:00 PM. A second viewing will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1731 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020 on Monday, November 11th, from 9:30-10:30 AM. Mass of Christian burial to follow.
