Henry E. Devlin

HENRY E. DEVLIN, III, 69, of Port St. Lucie, FL, died August 21, 2012 at his home.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Henry was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL since 1981.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Devlin served as a Police Officer in Stroudsburg, PA and Port St. Lucie, FL, where he was one of the original 10 officers hired by the city. He also served for the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Department.

He was of the Catholic Faith, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of The Jaycee's.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Devlin of Port St. Lucie, FL; two sons, Doug Devlin of Port St. Lucie, FL, Steve Devlin of Fort Pierce, FL; one grandson, Matthew Devlin; one granddaughter Madison Devlin; one brother, Robert Devlin of Philadelphia, PA; and one sister, Ruth Ann Peacock of Pocono, PA.

A Memorial Service will be Tuesday, September 4, 2012, 4:00PM at the Aycock Funeral Home, Port St. Lucie, FL.

George Stockman (1961)

Harry and I got close being on the track team. Harry was an easy going and fair friend. He was outstanding in the low hurdles. When Bristol came to the meet at BHS Harry got the jump on Pascal and beat him -- Pascal was the reigning state champion in Class C and seldom beaten. I regret not seeing Harry since those good old days at BHS. My late condolences to the family.
