Obituary for Gerald (Gerry) V. Pawlowski in Orwigsburg , Pennsylvania

Gerald V.  (Gerry) Pawlowski, Sr. 77, of Auburn, passed away Saturday, May 22nd, while in the company of his family and pet dog Buddy, at his residence.

Gerry was born in Berwick, PA on June 1, 1943, a son of the late Betty I.  (Hippensteel) and Victor A.  Pawlowski.
He was the husband of Joyce Weller Pawlowski. They were married on March 10, 1962. He was raised in the Baptist Faith and was a Graduate of Bensalem Township High School, Class of 1961.
 
In his younger years, he was a Detective Sergeant for Northampton Township Police Department, was assistant chief of Richboro Fire Company and Chief of Trevose Heights Rescue Squad. He was a 50 Year member of Newtown Masonic Lodge #427 and Doylestown Chapter # 26. 
  
He joined the Patriot Guard Riders to pay tribute to veterans and for the last several years was the assistant state captain for Eastern Pa. He was a leader of men and always wanted to bring out the best in everyone.
  
He was last employed as the night Supervisor for Berks Packing, Reading,Pa.  Gerry had a strong passion for Motorcycles and his memberships include the Deer Lake Hog Harley Owners Group (HOG), Schuylkill Co. Motorcycle Club where he had served as a president for 5 years, and the Schuylkill County Motorcycle Drill Team where he said he learned aggressive, defensive riding skills.
 
In addition to Joyce, his wife of 59 years, Gerry is survived by his son, Gerald Pawlowski Jr., husband of Susan, of Orwigsburg. His daughter, Cheryl A. Traub, wife of Robert, of East Norriton; and granddaughters Carissa Kramer, Baltimore and Erin Kramer, Reading, as well as a niece Sandi Rynier wife of Richard in Columbia, PA
  
 On Saturday June 5th, a Masonic Service will begin at 10:45 AM in the Schuylkill Masonic Lodge No. # 138 F & AM, 1000 East Market St., Orwigsburg. A Celebration of Life Service, for Gerry, will follow at 11:00. The Memorial gathering will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be private.
   
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice, Development Office, 801 Ostrum St, Bethlehem, PA. 18015 or Patriot Guard Riders of PA.789 Washington Pike Avella, PA 15312.

George Stockman (1961)

Gerry and I played baseball together at Hilltop when we were about 14. He was a fine catcher and well coached; had great signals worked out with the pitcher for picking runners off the bases. I'm sorry I missed so much of his life after this. RIP Gerry. My regrets to Joyce and the rest of the family.
