Susan was a dear friend from the time we met in high school. She was only child and lived in Bensalem while growing up. Susan worked for Amtrak and then started her own massage therapy business where she made many new friends. Susan had major cancer surgery and we all thought she would beat it, however it did return. She was in hospital care for 2 months. She passed on Good Friday of this year. Her soul mate, Bob, was there for her through it all.

Sad to learn that Susan has passed away. My condolences go to her family and friends. Susan lived on the same street as I did, while we were growing up in Cornwells Heights.  On lovely spring days, she would walk me to elementary school with others from our street. Those were the good old days, when there wasn't much traffic on Bristol Pike. I remember her father playing country-western music on his slide steel guitar. Thought that was so neat. I remember Susan's beautiful, bright strawberry red/blonde hair, and her being very soft-spoken and nice. She was two years older than I was. Lost touch over the years, as many of us do, but news of her loss brings back so quickly, the wonderful memories of days gone by. I will remember you always, Susan.

broken heart I am sorry to hear of Susan's death. I remember her to be sweet, dressed perfectly, and lots of fun as a friend. We were in Color Guard together and in those days we were on our own to create our marching routines for the football games. We practiced often each week & made up our presentations together. Susan & I were Co-Captians in our Senior year of 1962.

I recall her mother, Dot Fries, who worked at Hillcrest Dairy & Woolco. She was a wonderful woman, who loved young people, and often entertained us in her home.

Susan also worked as a travel agent for a while and booked my husband Jack Devlin & I along with her cousin Edy Trommer Tomes & husband Edward on our first cruise to Bermuda. Way to go, Susan.

I'll remember you in my thoughts & prayers. Thank you dear friend for all the good memories.

Your friend,

Renee Hiller Devlin
