Thomas J. McCarthy, Jr of Bensalem passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old. Born in Bristol, PA to the late Regina M. (Haak) and Thomas J. McCarthy, Sr, and was a lifelong resident of Bensalem. Tom was a graduate of Father Judge High School, Class of 1963. He owned and operated TJM Electronics along with his family for over 30 years. He was also known in the neighborhood as “TV Tom” and previously owned and operated the Caprice Lounge in NE Philadelphia for many years. Tom was a devout parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church, and through his faith volunteered countless hours at the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and St. Michael Indian School, St. Michael AZ. Tom was also a proud US Marine Veteran and loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 35 years, Sarah (Baisden) McCarthy. Tom is also survived by his three loving children, Thomas J, III and John McCarthy (Diane) and Donna McCarthy-Birnbaum (Patrick); His siblings: Robert and Joe McCarthy, Kathleen Collins (John), Eileen Robinson (Ed), Susan Harder and Patricia Madden (John); His 10 grandchildren: Jessica, John II, Nicholas, Thomas IV (Reanna), Elizabeth, Erin, Amber, Michael, Christopher and Natalie and 3 great grandchildren: Hailey, Forrest and Nyla. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from 9 to 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1731 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020 followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Rite of Committal will take place Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at 9:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.
