Richard Emmett Hatcher, 78, of Easton, Maryland, passed away on July 8, 2025, at Corsica Hills in Centreville.
Richard was born on October 18, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland and was preceded in death by his father, William Hatcher, mother, Marie (Zaboski) Hatcher, and brother, Robert Hatcher.
Rick is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife of 54 years, Catherine (Kubera) Hatcher, daughter, Carla, son-in-law, Clarence Smith and grandchildren, Colin and Corinne.
After graduating from Bensalem High School in Pennsylvania, he enlisted into the United States Air Force. His service included deployment to Vietnam where he earned the Presidential Unit Citation.
Following his military service, Rick earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Finance from Wilkes College in Wilkes Barre, PA and then went on to earn an MBA from Pace University in New York, NY. He practiced as a Certified Public Accountant in New York City and Minneapolis prior to his retirement in Easton.
In retirement, he was a proud member of both the VFW Easton Post 5118 and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 648.
Rick was an avid softball player and video game connoisseur. He also enjoyed playing the piano and was a devout reader of his Wall Street Journal and Barron subscriptions.
A service will be held on Tuesday July 15, 2025, starting at 12:30pm at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home in Easton, Maryland. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will take place the same day at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, Maryland.
