Obituary for Christine Carol Fuller

Christine Carol (Lutz) Fuller, 76, born in Philadelphia, and raised in Bucks County, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, of natural causes.

She was a caring mother of 2 daughters, grandmother of 5, and friend to all whom she met. Her husband, Mahlon, can be a bit audacious, yet despite his continued antics, she maintained her calm, reserved, and loving demeanor. The most important things in her life were her family, especially her children and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Mahlon Fuller; daughters, Jennifer Horst and Elizabeth Szollose; Son-In-Laws, Ronald Horst and Jon Szollose; Grandchildren, Connor Horst, Tanner Horst, Peyton Brown, Chase Szollose, and Leah Szollose; Brother, William Lutz; Sister-In-Law, Nanette Lutz; Brother-In-Law, Scott Stoneback; Nephews, Matthew Lutz, Robert Stoneback, Ellis Stoneback; Niece, Jessica Arnold; and many extended family members, all of whom she loved dearly.

Christine graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1968 with a degree in Biology. After graduating, she worked as a Bio-Tech Med at Crozer Chester Medical Center until she gave birth to her first daughter, at which time she transitioned to a stay-at-home mom and was lucky to continue that path to raise both daughters.

During her adult life, she moved from Claymont Delaware to the Pittsburgh area and then spent her last 34 years in Elizabethtown PA. At that time, she was a member of both the Pittsburgh Friends Meeting and the Lancaster Friends Meeting. In her later years, she found great joy and many friendships in her work at the Elizabethtown Public Library. She was an avid reader and felt at home working there.

She radiated warmth and compassion to all who knew her. Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, felt by her entire family and so many others who loved her deeply. The family genuinely appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Elizabethtown Public Library at 10 S Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on April 21, 2024, at 1 pm in the Roosevelt Assembly Room at the Masonic Village Health Care Center, 600 Free Mason Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022
