It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Anthony Thierry, aged 77, who left us on August 6, 2025, Born on August 29, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Paul “Bud” and Helen (nee Holton) Thierry. Michael was a dedicated and skilled operating engineer with Local 542, where he spent many rewarding years in the construction industry.

Michael and his beloved wife, Lorraine Thierry, were together for 52 years, and he was the father to his daughter Diane Thierry. Michael will be deeply missed by his siblings Gail, Julie, John, Susan, Patty, and June. He cherished his family deeply, and his warm spirit and gentle nature will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Michael was preceded in death by his parents as well as his children Julia “Jill” Thierry, Michael Thierry and siblings Kitty and David.

Life outside of work brought Michael immense joy. He was an avid hunter who cherished his time spent at the family’s mountain cabin in Tioga County. Whether he was bow hunting, target shooting, or enjoying time with his crossbow, the great outdoors was a sanctuary for him. His love for camping and all things nature reflected his adventurous spirit and zest for life.
