Harry Kellerman went to Bensalem High School along with his siblings. He taught English, he was Principal for a few years, taught English again, then ended his career as a Guidance Counselor. He worked for the district from 1971-1994. He was loved by many students and coworkers. Harry was a man with a laugh that will never be forgotten, a man who knew how to live life out loud, a man who so many looked up to for advice or support. He loved watching the Phillies and loved to talk about them with anyone who would listen.

So here we go. Principal Kellerman taught me a very important life lesson. I was "Mr. Owl" at Bensalem in 1983...whatever that meant. I played almost every sport and was often "wrongly" critical of the coaches. I heard my name come over the load speaker. Bryan Birch please come to the Principals office. I thought, "oh shit, what now." I walked in and sat down. I remember like it was yesterday. What he said next changed my LIFE. He said "Bryan, you WILL be successful in LIFE, but your success will come at other's peril. You will get there by stepping on others to get ahead." The conversation was obviosly much longer and deeper than that, but that is the summary. I can confidently say that I have never done that in my career thanks to HIM. From that day forward I have always treated people with dignity and respect. I wanted to reach out to him to say "thank you" personally, but saw that he passed from cancer. I am so sorry I missed the opportunity to thank him in person for changing who I might have been to who I am now. Teachers do make a difference and HIS advice was one of the greatest gifts in my LIFE.
Thank you Principal Kellerman for recognizing my weakness and tackling it head on. I have not and will never forget. Love You!
Marie Lynne Dillon (Carlettini) (1980)
Mr Kellerman was my 9th Grade English Teacher and everyone called him "Harry." He was and excellent teacher and compassionate counselor. By the time I graduated, he was our principal. I think of him often.
