Wayne P. Posten Obituary

Wayne Posten Sr., 79, of Southampton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. Born on November 15, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Yvonne (Stewart) and William Posten. Wayne lived a life marked by unwavering dedication to his family, faithful service to his country, and a spirited passion for the pursuits he loved most.

A proud graduate of Bensalem High School, Wayne answered the call to serve his country as a Vietnam-era veteran, with service in both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army. His commitment to community continued long after his military service. For more than 20 years, he served with distinction at the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department, earning the deep respect of colleagues and those he served.

Wayne’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Diana Posten (Grzywacz), his loyal partner who shared the many chapters of his life.

He was a loving father to Wayne Posten Jr. and his wife Danielle (Defeo), David Posten and his wife Courtney (Grasela), and Kathryn Siciliano (Posten) and her husband Danny. Wayne cherished his role as Pop-Pop to his seven grandchildren: Kali, Kayla, Beau, Milena, Leo, Luca, and Lorenzo. He is also survived by his siblings, Kathleen Posten, Pamela Thompson, Steven Posten, and William Posten. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Sally A. Altamose.

Wayne’s passions were as varied as they were deeply felt. A dedicated family historian, he immersed himself in genealogy, ensuring the stories of generations past would never be lost. He embraced a spirit of adventure, learning to fly and racing cars with the same enthusiasm he brought to everything he loved. His Native American heritage held a sacred place in his heart, and he honored it through active participation in cultural traditions that kept him connected to his roots. He also found quiet satisfaction in the meticulous craft of building model airplanes and cars, a hobby that spoke to his patience and creativity.

Among Wayne’s most treasured roles in his later years was volunteering with the Young Marines alongside his grandson Leo, a testament to his lifelong belief in mentoring the next generation and passing on values of discipline, service, and character.

Those who knew Wayne best considered him “the glue of the family.” He was the one who showed up, always, with steadiness, love, and a presence that made everyone feel grounded and cared for. That role cannot be filled, only honored.

Wayne’s legacy is one of devotion: to his family, his community, his heritage, and the values he lived by every day. His memory will be carried forward in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Relatives and friends are invited to Wayne’s Life Celebration on Tues. May 5, 2026 from 5-7:00 PM at McGhee Givnish Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA. Services will begin at 7:00 PM.
