Obituary for Ronald George Hunter

Abington, Pennsylvania | Age 72

Ronald George Hunter (RGH), loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and dear friend to many, went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 2022. He was 72 years old. Born on September 25, 1949 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George Hunter and Dolores Hunter Heinemann.

He is survived by his sister, Cheryl Hunter, of Florida, daughter Kelly Hill, and her husband Dan, and his loving grandchildren, Timothy, Caden and Erin Hill. He was preceded in death by sister, Marie Hunter, and grandson, Daniel Patrick Hill.

Ronald dutifully served in the United States Army from 1971-1977 having ultimately achieved the rank of Sergeant, E-5, out of Ft. Dix, NJ. He graduated from Bucks County Community College with a degree in Business and Hotel Management while also studying fine art photography, a passion which he would continue to pursue throughout his lifetime.

He began his career in automotive sales in the early 1970's in entry level sales and rose throughout the years to successful General Manager. Most recently, in preparation for his retirement, you could find him selling remembrance military apparel and supporting his fellow United States veterans at veteran hospitals throughout the Northeast and local venues, including the Trenton Farmers Market, where he enjoyed time with similar small business owners with whom he became close over the decades.

Ron was born a hardworking business man from the beginning to the end. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, the arts, music, antiques, and a lifelong love for collecting memorabilia that warmed his heart. He had a gift for entertaining and making friends feel welcomed. He was a deeply caring, thoughtful, and giving man throughout his entire lifetime.

He was happiest surrounded by close friends and family during the most influential times in his life. He especially enjoyed watching his hometown Philadelphia Eagles his entire life and their Super Bowl Championship victory in 2018. Ronald will be remembered for his fellowship, American patriotism, pride in family, his persistent work ethic, gifted entertaining, and warm and welcoming spirit for eternity.

Family and friends are invited to Ronald's Life Celebration on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 9:30-11:30am at Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, 378 South Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, PA. 19047, followed immediately by his memorial service at 11:30am (Live stream - facebook.com/DunnGivnish/)

Interment at Northwood Cemetery, Philadelphia.
