Florence 'Flossie' A. 'Blue' Picariello ‘67
Florence 'Flossie' A. 'Blue' (Doerr) Picariello of Bensalem died at her residence Tuesday, July 5, 2011. She was 61.
Flossie was a retired office manager for several trucking companies in the Delaware Valley area starting when she graduated high school.
'Blue' performed as a Christian clown for many years at church services with the King's Clown troupe, all over the Delaware Valley.
She was an active member of Clowns R Us, of Warminster, a board member of Kapo's Gang of South Jersey, president of the Mid-Atlantic Clown Association (MACA) for three years, and chaplain for many years. She was chosen for the MACA Clowntarian Award in 2009, for her wonderful work with the education of clowns and her unlimited assistance to all clowns and clown organizations.
Flossie is survived by her beloved husband and friend, Samuel O. Picariello Jr.; her son, Emilio M. Picariello; and three grandchildren, Dante N., Benjamin E. and Krystal L. Piciarello; also two brothers, John H. and Harry A. Doerr.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, at Cornwells United Methodist Church, 2284 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, followed by services at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
