Susan Kathleen Liger
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Kathleen (Palmer) Liger, beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend, who left us on Thursday October 1, 2026, in Burlington, NJ at the age of 73. Born on August 23, 1953, in Everett, MA, to the late Eleanor Frances (McCool) and Charles Edwin Palmer.
For nearly 50 years Susan dedicated her life to caring for others. She retired as a Teacher’s Aide with Burlington Township Schools, impacting the lives of countless children and educators. Earlier in her career, she worked with developmentally disabled adults and volunteered as an EMT with local emergency squads. She also supported victims of domestic violence alongside local police departments. In all she did, Susan brought compassion, comfort, and a genuine desire to help others.
Susan is survived by her faithful husband, Francis J. Liger of 48 years; devoted daughters, Jillian Liger (Aaron) and Jessica Liger-Pierce (Joseph) as well as her close-knit family and friends from Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan and Pennsylvania. And one of her greatest joys, was being a proud Nana to her treasured grandchildren, Greyson, Bennett, and Eleanor. Each of them will carry a piece of her spirit and love in their hearts.
Susan found joy in the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, loved spending her summers on the shores of Rodanthe, NC in the Outer Banks, and enjoyed trying out the latest recipe or craft. Her heart soared during travels to New England, where she created lasting memories with her family.
Memorial donations can be made in Susan’s name to leading organizations that support Alzheimer's research, care, and family programs; or to a charity of your choice that supports others in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Friday October 9, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by her service at 11:00 AM. Internment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
