John J. Lynch
November 26, 1957 - December 8, 2025
John J. Lynch passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, at age 68. He was born on November 26, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA. He was the son of the late John J. Lynch, Sr. and Mary Henkels Lynch. He was predeceased by his sisters, Helen Blair and Marie Murray. He resided in Haverford, PA for the past 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Pat, their daughter, Emma, their son, Sean (and his wife, Elizabeth Silvestro and their son, Benjamin).
John grew up in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia and graduated from Bensalem High School. He had a talent for electronics and after high school, worked at a pioneering home computer company, Commodore Computers in West Chester. He went on to hold a variety of jobs in his career, including managing sound engineering for local bands and events, and security systems before moving into the transportation industry. Working at Controlled Access, he helped develop and install the EZ pass system that has expanded across the country and is still widely used today. Most recently, he worked for PennDOT, managing their fiber optic network for the five counties of Southeastern PA.
John was a man very dedicated to his faith and member of Our Mother of Good Counsel Church in Bryn Mawr, PA. He attended daily mass for many years and was a member of several prayer groups, including the Charismatic Prayer Group at St. Katharine of Siena in Wayne, PA. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Kenrick Council 2256. He attended the PECO/Good Shepherd Men’s Retreat at the Malvern Retreat House for many years.
John volunteered as a tutor in the Volunteer English Program, teaching English as a second language. He enjoyed aviation and held a private pilot license for many years. He enjoyed travelling and spending time with family and extended family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation at 12:30 pm and a Funeral Mass at 1:30 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 31 Pennswood Rd., Bryn Mawr, PA 19010. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA
