In Memory

Robert C. Bings - Class Of 1976

Robert C. Bings

Robert Clarke "Badabing" Bings ‘76

BINGS, ROBERT CLARKE, "Badabing", 48 - of Laureldale, was called to be with our Lord Jesus on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at home after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.

Bob was surrounded by his loving family and many friends who will always hold him dear to their hearts. Bob's major accomplishment in his life was being the best father that his 12-year old daughter could ask for. Bob carried his cross with honor during his 29-month battle. Everyone that knew him knows that he never complained (not even once) during his courageous fight. He was such an inspiration to so many people because of his deep faith and love for our Lord. Bob worked at Bally's, but most recently was employed at the Borgata as a slot technician. He was a graduate of Bensalem High School, where he excelled at track. He graduated from Lockhaven University with a degree in psychology. Bob was a parishioner of St. Vincent DePaul Church in Mays Landing. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as a regular at the St. Padre Pio Shrine in Landisville.

More than anything, Bob loved spending time with his 12-year old daughter, whom he loved more than anything on this Earth. When not spending time with her, he was an avid gardener. His other passion was cooking, and he especially loved having family and friends over so he could show off his barbecuing skills. Bob "Badabing" is survived by his adoring wife of 15 years, Ann "Badaboom" Bings and his loving 12-year old daughter, Nicole Bings; his loving parents, Theresa and Carl Illenberger of Lancaster, PA; his brothers, Thomas Bings of Morrisville, PA and William and Winkie Bings of Mansfield, Ohio; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arlene and Edward Fryling of Vineland and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Diane Fryling of Galloway Township. He also leaves behind numerous step-brothers and sisters, as well as many nieces & nephews and an absolutely tremendous amount of friends whom absolutely adored him.

His viewings will be held from 6 to 8p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 and from 9 to 10a.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 114 Route 50, Mays Landing, where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wimberg Funeral Home, 400 Liverpool Avenue, Egg Harbor City, (609) 965-0357.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nicole Bings College Fund, c/o 6108 Oak Street, Mays Landing, NJ 08330.

I didn't know that Bob had passed away. He was part of our lunch table for a few years and Bob and I were on the track team together. Another example of a life taken way too soon. May God Bless Robert Bings.
